Hi from Galaedria

I've become quite a fan of World of Warcraft since I started playing in September 2009, and it's been a great adventure discovering all it has to offer, but I've got a long way to go yet before I could consider myself an expert. That's why this site is called the Lightbringer's Apprentice - to honour Uther the Lightbringer (First Paladin of the Knights of the Silver Hand, Gala's hero) and because I'm still learning, like an apprentice.

Currently, my goal in World of Warcraft is to level every class and profession to maximum, to try soloing as much content as I can with each class, and to improve my money-making skills at the Auction House. I'm also having fun creating outfits with transmogrification ("mogging").

I've been doing a little bit on a lot of characters lately. My druid reached level 85 today. I now have 7 classes at max level and all 11 professions at max level. My shaman has been soloing old dungeons and raids and my paladin is working on Loremaster and <shudders> archaeology. My rogue has finally got a mogging outfit based on the Embrace of the Viper set from Wailing Caverns because of the colour, and now she just needs to earn enough rep with the Keepers of Time to get some weapons that will complement the gear. My hunter is next on the list for levelling - I'm looking forward to taming some of the beautiful creatures I've seen in the Mists beta.

Speaking of the beta, I've also been playing a few characters there. I've started a low level warlock to try out the class overhaul and test the changes to inscription (all premades are given enchanting and jewelcrafting), as well as several premade characters that are working their way through Jade Forest and Valley of the Four Winds. I tried copying some of my existing characters but kept having problems. There is still an issue with mounts disappearing on characters which is annoying, but c'est la vie. So far I've been enjoying the shaman the most; I'm happy with the changes to totems only being placed when needed, however I'm disappointed with the lack of changes to enhancement AOE (I still hope Fire Nova will be un-linked from Flame Shock) and the glyphs aren't very interesting. I'm hoping that more changes will come and they've just been revealing changes to other classes first. One class that I think has changed for the better is paladins - Gala might finally get back into healing after sitting on the sidelines throughout Cata, and I'm thinking about trying retribution with her as well - she's always been prot/holy but I've been enjoying melee dps specs lately.

I finally got into the Beta and have been enjoying playing a baby Pandaren monk. The starting zone did have a few issues - crowds blocking item use for quests, game client crashes, sudden mysterious deaths etc. But all in all, I was impressed with the beauty of the zone and the fun and thematic quests.

I've chosen to play a Mistweaver and I like being able to switch into Tiger stance to do more dps when I'm questing. I'm enjoying the rotation and the build up and spending of chi and look forward to getting more abilities. I do think that only having one heal (and channeled at that) until level 18 means that the early dungeons could be difficult - especially Deadmines. I tried joining a battleground but after 20 minutes or so kept getting kicked from the queue.

It'll be great to have addons again - seeing a Recount meter would be interesting, and the default AH window is so terrible to use! There have been some UI improvements - vendor filtering for example, and the buffs panel. The new Companion Journal looks awesome and I can't wait to be able to collect wild pets. With that new window I think they could get rid of the old version where you had to click through pages and pages to find the pet you were looking for. I've noticed some macros aren't working - showing the right icon, but nothing happens when you click it. I'm sure they'll be fixed soon.

My druid has just hit level 81 and reached 525 in both herbalism and inscription. She's been such a pain to level - she was balance/resto but I hated healing with her in Wrath dungeons and her dps as moonkin was so low, that I switched her resto spec to feral and have since been having more fun, avoiding dungeons and questing in bear form.

With this expansion winding down, I've been trying to get rid of my glyph stock because there will be so many changes when Mists comes out, and instead stocking up on all the different types of inks so I can make the new glyphs when they become available. Now that I've got to the higher skill levels, I can make more off-hands and relics and they seem to be listed on the AH for a decent price (and in some cases with little competition), so I might try to make a few of those.

Now to get her to 85 and finish levelling leatherworking on my shaman.

I hope everyone had a pleasant Easter. Gala has been busy collecting eggs for Noblegarden and finally got the Noble title. The hardest part was finding a female undead for the Shake Your Bunny-Maker achievement.

She also collected the Springstrider mount, pet rabbit and full costume, while my mage picked up the special Tome of Polymorph: Rabbit. I found a few favourite spots to camp in Goldshire and Kharanos, but I also enjoyed hopping around (at high speed with the Egg Basket buff!) finding eggs that had gone unnoticed.
